grasping for something past me
out of reach

anatomy breaks us into pieces
                               precisely labeled digits
who would not recognize themselves

in the hollows of your heart
                               the echoes vibrate

in the dark
i have lost my direction
           slipping a foot forward
tentative

holding breath
                          plunging over
the unexpected
